Accounts Receivable Aging, or A/R Aging, shows outstanding customer balances grouped by how long they have been due or outstanding.
In Lynka, the customer receivables view belongs closely to Agreements because the source obligation is the Invoice. Accounting then needs the corresponding receivable to reconcile with the posted ledger.
What the report answers
A/R Aging helps you answer:
- Who owes us money?
- How much is still outstanding?
- Which balances are current?
- Which are becoming overdue?
- Which old balances need collection or investigation?
The source is the Invoice balance, not the original sale story
A won Deal can represent commercial success before the customer has been invoiced. A Quote can represent an accepted offer before money is owed. A/R begins with the actual customer receivable created by the invoice and accounting workflow.
Payments reduce outstanding balance when valid
A pending or failed payment attempt should not reduce receivables as if cash cleared.
The receivable should reflect valid recognized settlement according to the payment state used by Lynka.
That distinction is why an Invoice can show a payment attempt in history without the A/R balance necessarily becoming zero.
Aging buckets
Aging reports normally group balances into current and progressively older ranges. Use the exact bucket labels displayed by the current report rather than assuming every workspace uses one universal naming convention.
The business meaning is the same: the older the unpaid receivable, the more attention it usually deserves.
What to do with an overdue balance
- Open the customer Invoice.
- Confirm the due date and outstanding amount.
- Review recorded Payments and settlement state.
- Check customer communication and previous reminders.
- Schedule the next collection action.
- Correct any payment or invoice issue before chasing the customer for money they already paid.
Lynka’s automation catalog includes overdue Invoice and payment-follow-up conditions that can help surface this work.
A/R and the ledger
Operational A/R from posted Invoices less valid cleared settlement should reconcile with the Accounts Receivable control account when both use the same scope and accounting treatment.
If they do not, use the General Ledger and Invoice history to find the difference. Last modified on September 7, 2026
