# Why a Lynka feature or product area is missing

> Troubleshoot missing navigation, locked pages, upgrade prompts, and features that another workspace member can see but you cannot.

When a feature is missing, do not start by reinstalling the app or clearing the browser. Lynka resolves product access through several independent layers.

## Check the access chain

1. **Workspace status:** access must be active.
2. **Plan:** the current plan must include the product capability.
3. **Installed area:** the workspace must have the area enabled.
4. **Role default:** the user's role must provide an appropriate starting access pattern.
5. **User override:** an explicit deny can remove area access.
6. **Action permission:** the user can enter an area but still be blocked from a particular action.
7. **Record scope:** the user can have the feature but see fewer records than another teammate.

## Common examples

**Accounting is missing on Free.** Accounting is not part of the current Free entitlement model.

**Teams settings are missing on Pro.** Team collaboration is a Teams capability in the current model.

**Reports can be entered but scheduling settings are missing.** Some advanced reporting administration can have a stricter plan or owner/admin gate than basic report viewing.

**A user can see Invoices but cannot post one.** Invoice posting has both entitlement and permission checks.

**A salesperson cannot see another rep's lead.** The problem can be record scope or missing `lead.view_all`, not the Leads feature itself.

## Refresh after access changes

Permission snapshots are cached briefly and have realtime invalidation paths. After an admin changes access, refresh the affected session if the old navigation remains visible for a short time.

## If the frontend and backend disagree

The backend must win. A button that appears because of stale frontend state does not grant security permission. Likewise, a backend permission error should not be dismissed only because the control was visible.
