# Sales CRM: leads, deals, companies, and activities

> Learn how Lynka Sales connects lead qualification, companies, deals, activities, pipeline management, ownership, automation, and sales reporting.

Sales is where Lynka turns early prospects into managed commercial opportunities. Prospects can arrive from manual entry, imports, campaigns, or the built-in Lead Generator, but they enter the same ownership, activity, qualification, and Deal lifecycle once your team decides to work them. The area is deliberately split into **Leads**, **Deals**, **Companies**, and **Activities** because each record answers a different question.

A lead asks: *Is this prospect worth pursuing?*

A deal asks: *What commercial opportunity are we trying to win?*

A company asks: *Which customer organization does this work belong to?*

An activity asks: *What happened, and what should happen next?*

## The Sales workspace

Desktop Sales has tabs for Overview, Leads, Deals, Companies, and Activities. Lead and deal lists can use table and Kanban presentations. Lists support server-side search, filtering, sorting, pagination, and the data scopes available to the user.

On mobile, the same record types use compact cards, mobile filters, and full-screen or overlay detail flows instead of reproducing the desktop table on a small screen.

## LeadGen can feed Sales, but Sales decides what is real

LeadGen helps discover prospects. Sales decides which of those prospects deserve follow-up, who owns them, whether they qualify, and whether they eventually become won business. Keeping those jobs separate protects pipeline quality.

Use [LeadGen to CRM](/leadgen/results-to-crm) if prospecting is your starting point.

## Start with a lead when qualification is still open

Use a lead for a prospect that has not yet passed your qualification process. The built in lifecycle supports New, Contacted, Qualified, Lost, and Disqualified, while your workspace can show configured labels and colors.

A lead can hold contact details, company context, owner, activities, notes, documents, email context, and qualification readiness.

When the prospect is ready, use the qualification wizard. It confirms need, decision maker, budget, timeline, and a concrete next action, then creates the related deal only after the backend lifecycle check succeeds.

## Use Deals for pipeline and final sales outcomes

Once a commercial opportunity exists, manage it as a deal. Deals carry stage, expected amount, probability, expected close date, owner, activity context, and final outcome.

Open stages such as New, Qualified, and Proposition represent active pipeline work. Won, Lost, and Disqualified are final outcomes and use the close lifecycle rather than a casual card move.

## Ownership and scope

Ownership identifies who is responsible for the record. Scope determines which records a user can see. They are related, but they are not the same thing.

A rep can work Mine scope, a manager can use team scope where available, and an owner can have workspace-wide visibility when the appropriate `view_all` permissions are granted.

Changing a record owner does not automatically change the whole team's access policy.

## Activities keep the pipeline honest

Schedule calls, meetings, emails, follow-ups, and other work so every active record has a clear next step. Completed customer-facing activity feeds the attention logic used by built in automation.

Sales automation includes rules for leads with no owner, leads needing attention, deals with no next step, overdue follow-up, stale stages, approaching close dates, past close dates, missing loss reasons, and won deals missing an expected invoice.

## Sales reporting

The active report catalog includes New Leads Trend, Lead Sources, Lead Response Time, Lead-to-Qualified Rate, Lead-to-Win Funnel, Pipeline Value by Stage, Deals Needing Attention, Win Rate, Won vs Lost Trend, Sales Cycle Length, and campaign-related sales reports.

Money reporting uses the workspace base currency where valid FX information exists. Won value belongs to the deal close lifecycle, not to the total of invoices linked later.

If Sales numbers differ between two users, compare data scope, period, timezone, and currency quality before assuming the calculation is wrong.
