# Use the Lynka report catalog

> Find operational and financial reports by business question, apply scope and period filters, and understand why two reports can show different totals.

The report catalog is a library of canonical reports with defined calculations. Use it when you need a business answer that should be consistent across users, periods, and dashboards rather than rebuilding the formula manually each time.

## Active report areas

The current production catalog includes active reports across:

* Sales and campaign performance
* Agreements and receivables
* Inventory and procurement
* Finance and Accounting
* Support and SLA

The current active set contains 41 implemented reports.

## Start with the question

Choose the report whose definition matches the question you are asking.

If you want "What is still owed by customers?" use A/R Aging or overdue invoice reporting.

If you want "What revenue was posted?" use the P\&L or ledger-based finance report.

If you want "What did we bill?" use invoice or Agreements reporting.

If you want "What did we win?" use deal outcome reporting.

These values can differ correctly because they represent different business events.

## Scope and period

Before comparing two numbers, confirm both views use the same workspace, data scope, reporting period, timezone, currency basis, and exclusions.

A manager looking at team scope can legitimately see a different pipeline total from an owner looking at workspace scope.

## Canonical calculations

The report catalog stores report semantics and calculation versions. That allows the product to audit a report definition rather than letting every screen invent a slightly different formula.

## Export

Report viewing and export are separate permissions. A user can be allowed to read reports without `report.export`.
