# Bank Reconciliation Readiness: check whether reconciliation can be trusted

> Understand the Lynka Bank Reconciliation Readiness report and why missing statement or reconciliation data should produce an unavailable result rather than a fabricated score.

The **Bank Reconciliation Readiness** report helps you decide whether the available bank and accounting data are in a state where reconciliation can be meaningfully reviewed.

It is not useful to show a reassuring percentage when the underlying bank statement or reconciliation data is missing.

## What readiness means

A useful readiness view considers whether the workspace has the data required to compare accounting activity with bank activity and whether unresolved reconciliation work remains.

## When the result can be unavailable

If no bank statement, statement lines, or reconciliation data exists for the context being reviewed, Lynka should prefer an unavailable or not-ready result over a fabricated 100 percent value.

No data is not the same as perfectly reconciled data.

## What to do when readiness is poor

Check:

* whether the correct bank account exists
* whether the statement or bank lines are present
* whether the reporting period matches the statement
* whether transactions are still unmatched
* whether opening balances or prior periods create a carry-forward difference

Then open [Reconcile bank transactions](/product/accounting/bank/reconcile-bank) to work the underlying lines.

## Readiness is not the reconciliation itself

This report is a diagnostic view. The actual reconciliation happens in the bank reconciliation workflow where accounting entries and bank statement lines are matched or exceptions are resolved.
